Wedding dress inspiration

I'm getting married next April, and am going to make my dress. Elie Saab is my main inspiration. He is sooo amazing. At this point I'm thinking about long sleeves and beautiful lace... strapless just isn't my thing. I think I'll try and find a basic pattern to base it off, then draft it from there.

How's Japan? You must be nearly on your way back now?

    1. Thanks Jen! It'll be in Lauder, Central Otago (pretty close to Naseby!). Can't wait :)
Yeah actually heading back to NZ in 2 weeks, living in Christchurch though.

Can't wait to go fabric shopping!!! Haha

  2. Gah! These are really pretty. I always thought I knew what I wanted in a wedding dress, but I love this look of tailored lace.

It sort of reminds me of a knitting pattern I saw once-- I'd like to make at least part of my wedding ensemble, but don't know if I could do a good enough job on a whole dress. I'd been thinking maybe I'd make a dress for dancing at the reception?

Either way I can't wait to see what you make, the fabric you choose, the style you decide on... what an exciting time! Congratulations.

  4. What a beautiful site - thank you Rosey! I love it. I already bought a pretty vintage swallow pearl brooch I'm gonna make into a headpiece so this gives me lots of inspiration.
